Big Pebbles (Veliki žali)
Veliki žali (Žali is the dalmatian name for pebble), as the name describes, is a pebbly beach. Located around 20km west of Dubrovnik, beyond the village of Brsečine, it's not reachable by public transport. Taking a taxi or hiring a car is the best option.
It's never too crowded with swimmers as it's not near to any residential areas. The sea is shallow here and it's also possible to hire jet-skis. In the early evening you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset over the islands of Koločep, Lopud and Šipan.
